59. Языки всегда интересуют ученых как уникальный феномен и, различные ученые иногда предлагают абсолютно противоположные точки зрения об одном и том же языке:
1. The desire to have “pure” languages is only natural. Languages should develop according to the patterns prescribed to them by scholars, languages should exist without any borrowings. (Желание иметь «чистые» языки естественно. Языки должны развиваться по шаблонам, предусмотренным им учеными, языки должны существовать без каких-либо заимствований).
2. There are “civilized” languages developed and primitive languages, thus the wide spread view that some languages are better than others can be accepted. (Есть «цивилизованные» языки, развитые и простые языки, но широко распространено мнение, что некоторые языки лучше, чем другие могут быть восприняты).
3. It is important to have one language that is artificially created and understood by all inhabitants of our planet as a means of communication. (важно иметь один язык, искусственно созданный и понятный всем жителям нашей планеты как средство общения).
4. Language helps us to understand ourselves and our society. A lot could be achieved by means of negotiations but not by means of weapons. (Язык помогает нам понять себя и наше общество. Много может быть достигнуто путем переговоров, без какого-либо оружия).
5. It is hardly possible to accept the assumption that if people don’t speak like us they are unlike us; and therefore they don’t like us, they are our enemies. 6. People should use only Queen’s English if they speak this language. (Людям следует использовать только королевский английский, если они говорят на этом языке).
7. Grammar is the most important aspect of a language while learning it. (Грамматика - это самая важная часть языка, во время изучения).
8. Writing is more careful, prestigious and permanent than speech, especially in the context of literature. People should speak as they write. (Правописание более тщательно, престижно и постоянно, чем речь, особенно в контексте литературы. Люди должны говорить так, как они пишут).

Say what you think about these opinions: 1. The desire to have “pure” languages is only natural.
