5. Why did Lisa and her friend use to fall out?
6. What idea did Lisa have?
1.
Natasha: In my old school I used to be the best in Literature. I used to get very good marks, and the teacher would constantly praise me for that. It made me feel very proud and I started to show off. When my best friend asked me to help her with a composition, I told her that she should do it herself. She was very disappointed, but never spoke to me about it. Then my classmates started to giggle behind my back and even called me 'Kapitanskaya dochka" after Pushkin's famous character. I started to feel very awkward about it. When I finally went to a new school, I decided that I would never show off again.
2.
Natasha's mother: When Natasha was little, she used to be a very bad eater. I would spend hours cooking food for her and she would sit at the table, read her book and completely ignore her food. When I asked her why she wouldn't eat, she would tell me that she actually wanted something else. I'd get mad at her and we'd fall out. Then one day I decided to give her a bit of everything: a piece of cheese and a piece of egg, some tomatoes and cucumbers, a bit of potato and a bit of sausage, some fish and even some jam. At first she couldn't believe her eyes but then she started to eat and before I knew it, she had finished it all off.
3.
Lisa: I used to have two best friends, Mila and Sveta. We used to do everything together and of course we wanted to sit together too. However, the desks in our classroom were only big enough for two. as you know. So one of us always felt unhappy. I would sit together with Mila in History and Sveta would get upset, then Sveta would sit with me in Russian and Mila would get upset. And then they would sit together in Maths and I would feel lonely. We used to fall out over this problem every week. In the end I thought to myself: if you really like your friends, you should try to make them happy and not unhappy. And I told Mila and Sveta that they could sit together and I wouldn't be upset about it. A year later Mila went to another school, but Sveta and I didn't want to sit together anymore.
